Youth critical following self-immolation attempt in Ganjam
Berhampur: In a tragic incident a youth sustained critical burn injury and was admitted to hospital after making self-immolation attempt in front of the SP office in Ganjam district of Odisha on Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Badal Sahu of Borigaon area under Rambha Police limits of the district.
As per reports, the youth poured kerosene on his body and attempted self-immolation after setting himself on fire.
Following the incident, he was rushed to the Chhatrapur hospital. However, as his health condition deteriorated he was then shifted to the MKCG hospital in Berhampur. As per latest reports, he has been shifted to Bhubaneswar.
The reason behind the self-immolation attempt is yet to be ascertained.
