COVID-19 SRD Grant Clients Whose Marital Status Changed After They Applied For The Grant

Clients who get married or change their surname at the department of Home Affairs South Africa are urged to update SASSA of the change. SASSA validates the client’s information with the Department of Home Affairs monthly, if details do not match, the application for that period may be declined.


#COVID19SRD Should a client receive an SMS indicating that their mobile number has changed, but they did not initiate the change, they are urged to click on the link provided in the SMS to report unauthorized cell phone number change or call 0800 60 10 11. The link provided will be unique, if one types an ID number that does not match the link it will indicate “fail”

Bank Details:

lients are urged not to repeatedly change their bank details on the SRD website, as the account will have to be verified each time a change is made- which may delay payment for such client.
• It is recommended that clients open their own bank accounts with an institution of their choice as it will assist them to take ownership of their funds and collection

Payment Amount And Bank Details:

• Please be reminded that the COVID-19 SRD payment amount remains R350 per person, for each month they qualify for.
• Beneficiaries are urged to please provide their correct bank account details so that we can timeously facilitate their grant payments. The bank account should still be active and registered in the applicant’s name.
