NSFAS news – The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) has officially begun the NSFAS application period for the academic year 2023, encouraging prospective students who need financial help to submit their applications early.

Tuesday’s official statement from Higher Education Minister Blade Ndzimande also included a few significant adjustments that will streamline the application process.

How to Create New myNSFAS Profiles for 2023 Application

Here are procedures that must be followed in order to register an account on the new platform for all current NSFAS grant recipients:

  • Enter initial names here (as per ID number)

  • Enter your ID number here (will your username)
  • Enter your email address here.
  • Enter your cell phone number here.
  • I agree to the terms and conditions. Check the box to permit NSFAS to review the data you’ve given (compulsory)
  • In order to safeguard your account, create a password.

Students can select apply from the screen after creating an account or profile and entering all the required data. The student must then click the next button and submit their father’s information if applicable.

The ID number, first and last names, and surnames of participating applicants will subsequently be verified by NSFAS using the Department of Home Affairs database. Only data from legitimate South African IDs will be allowed. Additionally, applicants should make sure they fulfill all criteria set forth by the bursary program.
