DBE Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI) Teaching Assistant Phase 4

DBE Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI) Teaching Assistant Phase 4 – The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has urged new applicants to register their information as applications will open soon as the third phase of the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI) comes to a close on August 31, 2022.

The initiative was designed to help young individuals looking for employment during the height of the pandemic, and more than 500,000 young South Africans have taken part since its introduction in 2020.

The Employment Initiative’s Phase 4 application period will commence on September 22, 2022, according to a statement made by the Department of Basic Education (DBE) earlier this year.

The programme gives young people between the ages of 18-35 an opportunity to learn and gain skills and knowledge which they can then use to pursue future careers and employment.

The department has stressed that in order to make space available for other unemployed youth seeking employment and skills development, anyone who has already participated in the programme will not be allowed to reapply.

Current teaching assistants and other young people who have participated in the programme previously are encouraged to use the skills they have acquired during the programme to further their careers.

The department has urged new applicants to register their details on the www.sayouth.mob system. The system is easy to navigate and is zero rated, so it does not include any data costs.
