2023: Don’t Share Your Delegate Votes, Give It All To Me – Saraki Begs Lagos PDP

Former Senate President and 2023 presidential aspirant on the platform f the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Bukola Saraki has promised to consider the ‘special status’ for Lagos State if he emerges President of Nigeria.
Saraki gave the promise on Monday in Lagos when he met with the PDP delegates from the state.
The former Kwara State Governor told the delegates to give all their votes to him at the party’s forthcoming presential primaries, saying none of the other aspirants has as much stake as him in Lagos State.
Naija News reports he met with the delegates in Ikeja on Monday evening and vowed to bring all his experiences to bear in repositioning Nigeria for greater glory.
He said: “Please, let me appeal to you, I am your own. Let us work together to ensure that we win at the federal and win at the state.
“There is nobody among all the aspirants that have the same history and closeness to Lagos State as myself. Do not leave your own to go look for someone outside.
“Together we can make this country better. My interest will be your interest. I want to appeal, don’t share your delegate votes, this is my state. I beg you.”
Saraki promised to make the request for a “special status” for Lagos State one of the priorities in his administration if he becomes President.
He urged the delegates not to be swayed by monetary or sentimental inducements but to vote for a candidate that can take tough decisions for the sake of Nigerians.
The former Senate President described himself as the leader Nigeria needs at this time.
“I have shown that I can stand for what I believe in. I do not run from challenges, I face them. I am a solution provider. In every office that I have occupied, I have left it better than I met it.
“I believe that given your support and I become president of Nigeria, I will leave Nigeria better than I meet it. I will become a chief marketing officer to sell Nigeria,” he added.
He maintained that zoning is not the answer to the challenges facing the country.
